I was surprised to find her sitting in her car outside of my house at three in the morning but I was not shocked. She likes calling me, “amigito.” That’s “little friend,” in Spanish. I know her well enough to say that she did not come for some but that didn’t mean I wasn’t going to try get some. I convinced her to come inside. She was asking all sorts of questions about my where I’ve been hiding and soap box races.
Her attempt to read an earlier issue of Kinetics Direct was really, “cute.” She got really close to the computer screen and used her finger as a bookmark. I sat back and drank from the 40oz Bud Light she so kindly donated to her intrusion of knowledge and cause.
She stumbled through our Introduction but didn't stop reading until she understood what KD was trying to say. Her thought and state of mind were more in tact than others in the room.
KD: What do you think about sex?
Bridget: I’m not thinking about that right now.
KD: You know what? You should interview me.
Bridget: Ok, Besides Tool, what did you listen to that you never thought would lead you to where you are right now?
The question was only acceptable because we’v know each other for more than 20 years.
KD: “Honestly Banda, (big band music originating in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico.”
“Dude no names, how silly is that being in a soap box race? Do you have a lighter? Slash guitar…What state holds the soap box race?”
I found a soap box race but it wasn't’t what I expected it to be. This is the e-mail I received for my inquiry.
