To the Extreme!

Extreme Review

The bartenders at the Extreme bar in Anaheim are hot chicks that dress in bikinis.  The bar is located near Angel’s Stadium.

The beer was beer, the pool tables had balls and cues to direct the balls where they need to go but the people were not like the people KD grew up with.

The place was filled with Caucasians.  KD can sometimes become nervous when the majority of the people around are not having beans for breakfast.

As KD began to say goodbye, I politely walked over to an outside table and asked the rather large gentleman and his female friend if I could ask them a few questions about news, music, fashion, art.  (That’s not a typo by the way.  Kinetics Direct is News – Music – Fashion – Art.  There are no ands in between.) They accepted and I was in.

The conversation started with a comment I made on the amount of Latinos in the area due the Dodgers being in town.

Steve Roberson did not mind the people he did mind Artie Moreno trading away a World Series team.

"I'm not very happy with the team," he said, "but they're still my team, even though Moreno filled the team with Latinos."

He went on to name a variety of his favorite Angel's players from the past and present.  "We miss the Molina brothers." He said.  "We got Vladimir who's good but what happened to Konerko and Manny Ramirez?"

Then he let out a grunt and said, "Don't even get me started on Erdstat. He was the heart and soul of the team. The owner would rather spend $500,000 on a team of rookie no-names than 5 million on Erstadt."

"The team’s doing pretty good,” he said.  “I remember when they won the World Series!  I was here in this bar.  The streets were filled with friends and family.  It was a great experience.  I've been into the Angels since I was a little kid.  My room is filled with banners, pennants, posters, and Angel’s memorabilia.”  He paused for a second and asked, “What's this for anyway?"

That's when I realized that there was nothing different between me and the man who sat before me that night.

I've had the banners and posters. I've been into baseball since the time I was born. And I too often ask my self, "What is this for?"

I thanked Mr. Roberson.  We shook hands and KD took its exit from the bar.
