Tito and I took a trip to Indio CA, because Coachella 2008 was the perfect place to alpha test Farmacia and I had the gas. Tito is one lucky music fan (the music and arts festival was the second time he got to see Roger Waters), and it gave me great pleasure to stand by his side while listening to the music. It was the first time I had ever seen a Roger Waters performance.
The visuals were immense; I do believe I’ll be more patient next time around. “Mother should I trust the government.”
What can I say about Vol. 4 Issue 5 other than, “Extra, Extra!” I had a great time rushing home to publish what had just taken place and what was about to take place.
KD has been a bit preoccupied with Farmacia.
Farmacia is a t-shirt line designed by Carlos Amador. They are mostly comprised of raw graphics and some altered images that are not too far from what you, the KD subscriber, are used to seeing on Kinetics Direct.
It is a lot of fun putting these Ts together, but it is not as much fun as what Kinetics Direct will be getting into in the near future. Farmacia will be sponsoring local band The Logan with some t-shirts to wear on stage during their current tour.
They will be playing in the following U.S. cities: San Diego, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Albuquerque, Denver, Grand Junction, Salt Lake City, Great Falls, Casper and well, that’s it for now but we will definitely keep you posted on how far Farmacia reaches on The Logan tour van/bus/veggie-oil burner.
Aside from trying to make some money on the "T Vending" end, I've been getting back into some old favorites such as The Offspring and others. While on this road, KD has come across Epitaph, a record label as old as most of Kinetics Direct. Epitaph reminded me a lot of Kinetics Direct in that, Brett Gurewitz owner, started the label to sign his new band Bad Religion. I sent an e-mail on the subject as a preview to the Weinie Roast y Fiesta, "I think I misspelled Gurewitz." If you missed the point, it's that the guitarist of Bad Religion started a label, as I have started Kinetics Direct. Read about the bands under Epitaph here.
I’d like to thank Mr. T’s Bowl, The Anarchy Library and Revolver magazine for inspiration. Also, if you’re wearing a T-shirt with a Farmacia tag stitched on it, “You’re just as lucky as Tito.”
More to come, blunt me…
